Each 90SBR Review Lets Readers Know Quickly If a Book Is Worth Their Time, Money
LITTLETON, Colo., March 28, 2012—Zipline Performance Group, a leader in developing specialized web communities and in providing customized training services, recently launched 90 Second Book Reviews (90SBR). The community, located at 90secondbookreviews.com, is dedicated to providing all the information readers need to decide whether or not to read a book, in a condensed, easy-to-use format. The 90SBR tagline is “Know in 90 seconds if a book is worth your time.”
Contributors to the 90SBR community read important nonfiction books (quite often, current best sellers) and write short, focused reviews telling site users what the book is about and why they should read it. Each review takes about 90 seconds to read. By the end of the review, readers should have the information they need to decide whether the book is worth buying and reading. If readers want to explore the book and author more before reading it, each review page provides web links about the book and its author, as well as author interviews, talks and profiles on video.
A unique and important feature to complement each 90SBR review is the “Must-Read Scale,” which rates a book’s value on a subjective scale of 1 to 5 and in five areas—Importance to Society, Importance to You, Fun Read, Quality of Writing and Presentation, and Perspective Changer—then calculates an “overall must-read rating.”
90SBR also is affiliated with major book sellers so readers can buy books, e-books and audiobook CDs by clicking the ordering links throughout the site. Recently reviewed books on 90SBR include Heaven Is for Real, Quiet, Bossypants, Abundance, Once Upon a Secret, Change Happens and many others. There’s no fee to enter the 90SBR community and submit a book review, recommend a book for reviewing, or comment on a blog post.
“We’ve built an online community for readers of nonfiction books, especially those books that have a tremendous importance for business, society and personal improvement and inspiration—and that are also a lot of fun to read,” said Tom Brooksher, Zipline’s President and CEO. “In addition, 90SBR leverages Zipline’s expertise in adult learning principles, since most adults can decide faster when they are provided with only the most important details within a minimum amount of time.” Brooksher said the company plans to add sections for fiction and titles only published in an e-book format.
