Using Video Vignettes for Soft Skills Instruction
This course is designed to teach transit industry managers hiring skills. This sample is one of a series of modules that focused on interviewing.
Since interviewing is dependent on reading candidates body language, voice inflection, etc., we used originally produced video to allow students to experience the differences between effective and ineffective interviewing practices.
We were responsible for all phases of production, including scripting and storyboarding, instructional design, graphics, professional voiceover, and producing the screens using Adobe Captivate.
For the video segments, we determined how to incorporate them into the instructional design, and then produced the scripts, recruited the professional actors, hired and managed the video crew, and directed the shoot.
