This sample video was used in a self-paced learning program designed for physicians, nurses and other caregivers to help them understand how to communicate bad news to patients. We created nearly a dozen six- to 10-minute videos for this program.

 

The client was a healthcare quality improvement organization specializing in continuing education, palliative care and services. We used originally produced video to let students experience effective communication practices in difficult, emotionally charged situations.

We determined how to incorporate video into the instructional design, and then produced the scripts, recruited the professional actors, hired and managed the video crew, directed the shoot, and managed video post-production.
